Description

This is an original colour pencil drawing. I have taken A4 prints from this piece, but this is the original signed drawing.

This original piece of artwork is drawn artist with artist quality lightfast colour pencils. I’ve then used an additional pencil blending technique before adding more details over the top. This Long Tailed tit was drawn from my own photograph of a long tailed tit which landed briefly on a branch on the Camel Trail in Cornwall. They don’t sit still for five seconds!!

The drawing is A5 size so 14.8cm x 21 cm (approximately 6″ x 8″) and it is mounted in a high quality off white A4 mount 21cm x 29.7 cm (approximately 8.5″ x 11.7″) with backboard.

A certificate of authenticity is also included with this piece to document that it is an original piece.

This piece has been created using Faber Castell polychromos colour pencils which are superior quality with high pigment content and great lightfastness. I’ve created highlights with a white gel pen. The paper used is Daler Rowney, heavyweight, Acid free paper.

Buying as a gift

If you would like to purchase this long tailed tit art as a gift for someone else, it can be sent as a gift to a different delivery address. It can be specially wrapped in tissue and boxed in a ribbon decorated box for a small additional charge. The certificate of authenticity will be sent with it.

I am always happy to create a bespoke piece of artwork for you, based on any animal or pet, from pictures that you may have (as long as you have permission from the original photographer). I create a lot of my artwork from original photographs that I take myself, usually of local Cornwall wildlife, so that I own the copyright of the original image myself rather than using other peoples images. This means that I can create a truly unique image that has not been drawn by any other artist. There will be prints or other products taken from the original artwork but this is the only original piece.

As a photographer and artist, I have a huge love of wildlife and the natural world. I strive to capture the beauty and personality of each creature that I draw. I also find that the level of detail that is necessary for me to work to create these pieces of artwork, allows me to really feel connected to each bird, mammal, reptile or insect that I draw.
